SECURITY GUARDS, INC.
Security Guards – Security Surveys – Investigations - Consulting Cameras - CCTV Systems – Access Control Systems – Metal Detectors
HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
Security Guards, Inc. started as a segment of Manpower, Inc. in 1961 to supply security services to one of Reading’s largest employers. With the advent of the Pennsylvania Private Detective Act, Security Guards, Inc. had to make the decision whether to go into the security/private detective business or discontinue supplying security services.
Manpower’s decision was to apply to the Berks County Court of Common Pleas for a Private Detective License, which was granted in 1975. In 1985, Manpower Security Services separated from Manpower, Inc. of Reading and created a separate corporation, Security Guards, Inc. In 1993 Security Guards, Inc. also became licensed in New Jersey, and in 1996 became licensed in the State of Maryland.
In 1998 we formed W.S.K. & Associates Consulting Group. This division handles investigative, consulting and electronic systems. These include CCTV systems, access control systems, metal detectors, etc.
Security Guards, Inc. is a locally owned company that has an around the clock communications center, supervisors who are on the road training and inspecting officers, and a computerized scheduling and guard tour system to provide the highest quality security services to its customers. Security Guards, Inc., the largest provider of security services in the area, has come to be nationally recognized as “professional” in the security field. Security Guards, Inc has achieved this recognition through the ongoing philosophy of the management to establish a superior security service. Security Guards, Inc. has assembled a staff of former law enforcement and firefighter training officers, and security professionals, to form a management team with the expertise that is needed in today’s ever changing security environment.
